Brandstone Research (3AP)

Istan is being bombarded by Brandstones, which may have unique and useful properties.​

​

  • Brandstone Research is an achievement related to collecting Brandstone and helping Yasna with her research.

  • It takes 7 days to complete, as you can finish only one task per day.

  • Completing the achievement will unlock Yasna as a merchant, allowing you to purchase the recipes for Astral weapons.

​

  1. Kralkatite Research
    Collect 10 Kralkatite Ores and bring them to Yasna.
     

  2. Branded Residue Research
    Collect 10 Branded Residues and bring them to Yasna. They drop from any Branded creatures in PoF maps.
     

  3. Miasma Research
    Use the Particle Collector from Yasna on a Brandstone Impact Site and then activate it. You obtain Particle Collector (Filled) which you return to her.
    Get a Brandstone Multitool from Scholar Fatima, the Volatile Magic Collector. The tool allows you to scan and locate Brandstone impact sites.
    You can upgrade the tool with 6000 VM.
    Brandstone falls every 15mins. Once they are grounded, they stay for 5mins.
    Using the Brandstone Multitool:
    1 - Indicates the location of a buried Brandstone Chunk.
    2 - Use to surface a buried Brandstone Chunk.
    3 - Use in replacement of a mining tool to extract Kralkatite from Brandstones and keep their gems intact. (1000 VM)
     

  4. Powdered Gemstone Research
    Reconfigure the multitool into a weapon, replacing three functions with damage capabilities. (2000 VM)
     

  5. Treatise on Astral Alignments
    Use on impact site to mark the location, and boost Kralkatite yields and gem-finding chance. Impact site markers can be empowered with the help of allies up to 5 times for greater resource yields. (3000 VM)
    Collect 10 Powdered Rose Quartz from the Brandstone Chunks from the Brandstone impact site and bring them to Yasna. 
    - Use the Brandstone Multitool to locate Brandstone impact sites. 
    - When you are close, press 1 to locate a buried Brandstone Chunk.
    - When you see a big beam of light, go there & press 2.
    - This brings a buried Brandstone Chunk to the surface & you can mine it.
    - Repeat these steps until there's no more buried Brandstone Chunks.
    - Return to Yasna after you get 10 Powdered Rose Quartz. You can salvage Rose Quartz to get Powdered Rose Quartz.
    - Speak to the renown heart NPC Archivist Salwa to enter the restricted archives. Take the Treatise on Astral Alignments and bring it to Yasna
     

  6. Mirror Calibration Readings
    Event: Defend Akili while he recalibrates mirrors around the Astralarium
    Complete the event at the Astralarium event and return to Yasna.
     

  7. Blazing Kralkatite
    Combining 10 Kralkatite Ore and 5 Powdered Rose Quartz at the Beam of Light at the top of The Astralarium.

Astral Purification (8AP)

You think you can purify Kralkatite through a confluence of astral energy if focused correctly.

Prerequisite: Brandstone Research

Reward: Irradiated Vision Crystal

​

After crafting an Astral Weapon, you will receive a letter in the mail and unlock this achievement. Take the letter to the hidden Sunspear base. To get in, talk to the heart vendor by the Astralarium and then interact with the Nightfall book.

Find Ouissal and talk to her. Make sure to have the letter and the following materials in your bag.

  • 70 Orichalcum Ingots

  • 70 Powdered Rose Quartz

  • 35 Glob of Ectoplasm,

  • 3 of each lodestones (Charged, Corrupted, Crystal, Glacial, Destroyer, Molten, Onyx)

  1. Charged Mirror  
    Bring 10 Orichalcum Ingots, 10 Powdered Rose Quartz, 5 Glob of Ectoplasm, and 3 Charged Lodestones to Ouissal.
     

  2. Corrupted Mirror
    Bring 10 Orichalcum Ingots, 10 Powdered Rose Quartz, 5 Glob of Ectoplasm, and 3 Corrupted Lodestones to Ouissal
     

  3. Crystal Mirror
    Bring 10 Orichalcum Ingots, 10 Powdered Rose Quartz, 5 Glob of Ectoplasm, and 3 Crystal Lodestones to Ouissal
     

  4. Glacial Mirror
    Bring 10 Orichalcum Ingots, 10 Powdered Rose Quartz, 5 Glob of Ectoplasm, and 3 Glacial Lodestones to Ouissal.
     

  5. Destroyer Mirror
    Bring 10 Orichalcum Ingots, 10 Powdered Rose Quartz, 5 Glob of Ectoplasm, and 3 Destroyer Lodestones to Ouissal
     

  6. Molten Mirror
    Bring 10 Orichalcum Ingots, 10 Powdered Rose Quartz, 5 Glob of Ectoplasm, and 3 Molten Lodestones to Ouissal
     

  7. Onyx Mirror
    Bring 10 Orichalcum Ingots, 10 Powdered Rose Quartz, 5 Glob of Ectoplasm, and 3 Onyx Lodestones to Ouissal
     

  8. Charged Light
    Top of rock pillar, SE of the MP in Champion's Dawn.
     

  9. Corrupted Light
    Top of the bluffs, western area of Palawadan.
     

  10. Crystal Light
    Top of rock pillar, west of Champion's Dawn wp.
     

  11. Glacial Light
    High above the western area of Modri Caverns.
     

  12. Destroyer Light
    Top of rock pillar, western area of Churrhir Cliffs.
     

  13. Molten Light
    Spinning fan, south of Astralarium, by Jakumba's Legacy PoI.
     

  14. Onyx Light
    Top of the building, NW corner of the Mordant Crescent Great Hall.
     

  15. Yasna's Notes
    Bring Yasna's notes to Sunsmith Ouissal in the Sunspear Base.

For this achievement, you will need to pick up the books around the Astralarium and return them to the correct shelf in the middle of the library. Make sure you read each book after you shelve it.

Istan Dives (4AP)

Find 4 diving goggles in the Domain of Istan.

 

 

 

  1. Find and use the goggles on the captain's ship in the Corsair
    The goggles are on the ship where Sayida is at; on the dragon figurehead.

  2. Find and use the goggles in the Modri Caverns.
    From Chalon Docks waypoint, head northwest into Modri Caverns. Use your springer to jump up the rocks to the pillar in the middle.

  3. Find and use the goggles in Champion's Dawn.
    From Champion's Dawn waypoint, head south to the Mastery Point. The goggles are just before the mastery point at the top of the pillar.

  4. Find and use the goggles above the Ancient Royal Docks.
    From Champion's Dawn waypoint, head SE towards the cave in Churrhir Cliffs. Use a springer to get up the side of the cliff. The goggles are halfway up.

Library Detective (8AP)

Collect overdue library books- through whatever means necessary.

  • Koss on Koss (Extended Edition)
    This book is in the Cave of Sunspear Champion story instance. Pick up the Moldy Old Book.

  • Everyone's a Corsair: A Guidebook
    This soggy book is underwater, right by a sunken ship in Corsair Flotilla.

  • The Battle of Sorrow's Furnace
    From Champion's Dawn waypoint, head south to Field of the Hopeful area. Pick up the Ancient Book under a small cemetery structure.

  • The Great Joko, Hero of Tyria
    This book is in Palawadan area, south of Chalon Docks waypoint. It is in the pyramid where the vista is.

  • Awakening of the Heart
    This book is in the Mordant Crescent Great Hall, in Warden Amala's room. The room is only accessible during the Sunspear Uprising meta event.

  • 101 Things the Mordant Crescent Doesn't Want You to Know!
    This book is in the Hero of Istan story instance. After you get the keys, cross the bridge & go up the steps. Open the cell with a bed & Awakened Mummies.

  • Mysteries of the Night Sky
    This Sieged Book is in a crater in Plains of Jarin.

Find all Sunspear caches buries around the island.
